2010: 4 ensembles selected.

36 applications were received and examined, and four ensembles were selected.

The Ensemble Les Ombres : already having appeared at the 2009 Festival, this ensemble recorded the first disc in the Young Ensembles series for the Ambronay Editions label on 12-15 April 2010. They were then welcomed back to Ambronay in June 2010 to work on a programme based on Bach's A Musical Offering.

The Ensemble Chiome d'oro : comprised of young musicians trained at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva, the ensemble specialises in the sacred and secular repertoire of 17th century Italy (Ucellini, Cavalli, Monteverdi etc). They were welcomed to Ambronay to work on this programme during June 2010.

The Ensemble Les Esprits animaux is comprised of young musicians from across Europe, trained at the Conservatoire of The Hague. It is an instrumental ensemble, working mainly on the music of Telemann, Couperin and Leclair. They will be in residence at the Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre from 5 to 13 July 2010.

The Ensemble Estampes is a trio (violin, viola da gamba and harpsichord) founded in 2007 at the Lyon Conservatoire. Winner of the first prize at the 2009 Bruges International Chamber Music Competition, the trio mainly performs works by Buxtehude, Telemann and Rameau. They will be at Ambronay from 23 to 29 August 2010.
