Young Artists Residency - Call for residency

Apply now for the 2013 Young Artists Residency Program !

The Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre continues its innovative policy of aiding the professional insertion of young musicians. Initiated in 1993 with the European Baroque Academy, to bridge the gap between the final years of education and the beginning of a musical career, it developed further with the professional training courses. To this we have now added a further dimension: Young Artists Residencies.
This program emerges from a recognition that newly formed ensembles often have the need for time and rehearsal space to work on their first projects. It is the ambition of the Cultural Encounter Centre to be able to facilitate, with its Young Artists Residency, the well-founded emergence of the new talents from all over Europe. The best selected ensembles will benefit from the Cultural Encounter Center's privileged support : they may have the opportunity to come the following year for a second period of residency and to record a first disc with the label Ambronay Editions. The Young Artists Residencies are part of a european network including the Collegio Ghisleri in Pavia, which will host 2 residencies. This program benefits from the support of the European Commission, which awarded it the title of European Cultural Ambassador until 2013.

6 ensembles will be selected this year for 1 week of residency in 2013. This residency will take place either in Ambronay or in an associate organization in Europe.

The Ambronay Cultural Encounter Centre offers:

Rooms and materials:

• One or two practice rooms at your disposal.
• Provision of a positive organ, two harpsichords (the instruments will not be tuned) and a digital piano.
